Rosalie - I like the songs.
Ismay - I liked the Goldilocks.
Erwan - I like the bear.
Zeke - It was funny.
Carmen - I liked the rainbow.
Ellie - I like the Music.

Shrove Tuesday

Today marks the day before Lent begins and this is known as Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day. It is the day where we burn the ashes ready for Ash Wednesday as well as thinking about what we might give up for the 40 days of lent. Pancakes are often made on this day and today the Junior Syndicate got together to get pancakes and write about our Shrove Tuesday experience.

Religious Education - Jesus Strand

The year 1 students are learning all about Jesus. So far we have covered where he lived and what clothes he wore. We had to compare these to what we wear today. Miss Reeves even let us dress up in Tunics! Next we will look at what he ate.

Kitchen Chemistry Inquiry

Room 1 are spending the term focussing on Kitchen Chemistry - part of this is looking at what a solid, liquid and gas is. If you pop into our class you will see our amazing work on the wall. These are some photos of an experiment we did where we mixed a solid and liquid to make a gas which inflated the balloon. We also made elephant toothpaste with Mrs B!

Treaty of Waitangi in Room 1

Room 1 spent part of Friday learning about what the Treaty of Waitangi means to New Zealand and how we can relate parts of the Treaty in our everyday lives. Part of this was creating our classroom treaty, which is now displayed in our classroom. Check out the photos of our wonderful learning.
