Football Skills

Football Skills have been a highlight of the term thus far for Room 1. Today was our last session and it was great to see how far we had all come.

Oral Language

Oral Language is a major component of Room 1 and today the students got to play a new classifying game in small groups. The students had a range of pictures they had to sort into groups and then explain to the class why they chose those groups.
What a fantastic activity it was for all students!

Kiwisport Session 1

Every term for 3 weeks that students have Kiwisport Sessions with Naomi, in these sessions they learn a wide range of fundamental skills for sport and have so much fun doing so.

Term 3 Art - Collage

The Art focus for Term 3 is Collage and Print Making - Room 1 are starting with Collage. Today we began to collage our own planets which we are going to name and put on a stary night sky background. Watch this space for the finished product!

Planetarium Visit

In Inquiry this term we are learning about Astronomy - how do the Moon, Stars and Planets affect our daily lives?

Today we had an amazing trip to the Planetarium and learnt so much about our Solar System.

On Monday we welcomed yet another student to room 1, Tigerlily. She has settled in so well and we love having her in our class!!

Impromptu learning!

Today Room 1 spotted Miss Reeves putting Paw Paw ointment on her lips. They were so intrigued and wanted to know if it was lipstick. Suddenly we were having a great lesson about where Paw Paw ointment comes from and what it is used for. Impromptu learning is so much fun!!

Amazing Work!

Today Rosalie wrote a story with minimum assistance, she used her word knowledge and word car to assist her. I was so proud of her I sent her to Mrs Stanley to show off the amazing work and she came back with treasures. Keep up the amazing work Rosalie!!!
