Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday - we celebrated this by attending Ash Wednesday Mass at the Cathedral and received the ashes on our foreheads.
Handwriting Fun
Room 1 follow the Casey the Caterpillar Handwriting programme that begins with the students learning how to make a range of shapes and learning the lingo before forming the letters.

Pancake Day/Shrove Tuesday
Room 1 and 2 celebrated Pancake Day, the day before Lent begins, by making and decorating some yummy pancakes.
We also experienced the Palms from Palm Sunday 2017 being burnt to make the ashes ready for Ash Wednesday, it was a great experience for all students and they followed it up with some outstanding writing.

Numbers to 10
Maths focus: Our focus in Maths is our numbers to 10 and these photos show us mastering making our numbers with pipe cleaners, this also helps with fine motor skills. We can also be seen adding legs to the caterpillars and ordering our numbers and letters.

Water Fun
Week 1 saw us with some extremely high temperatures so this called for relaxing afternoons and water play. A great way to spend two afternoons in our first week at school.
