What a pleasure it is to be able to bring in experts from our school community to teach the children about Matariki. Hoani had the students fully engaged and they are excited for the continued learning we will do this week. Come into class to check out what we get up to.

Samoan Language Week
This week has been Samoan Language week. In class we have been using "Talofa" as our daily greeting.
On Friday we also had a special guest, Christina came in and talked to us about traditional and modern Samoan clothes, jewellery, sign language in Samoan, coconuts and a myth all about how the coconuts came to be in Samoa, The Legend of the Eel.
Christina is J.T.'s mum and Robin's aunty and we loved having her teach us more about her Samoan culture.
J.T., Robin and Anthony also loved showing off their culture during the week and helped us learn how to count to 10 in Samoan.
Here is a video we also used to help us that Mrs Peeters sent us.
