It was amazing to see Rosalie and James representing Room 1 on the stage. All the children who participated did St Joe's very proud.

Maori Language Week

As part of Maori Language Week we had the Kavanagh College Kapahaka come and perform. It was great to see so many ex students up there.

Tongan Language Week

Room 1 are looking forward to a great week celebrating Tongan Language Week.

Time Machine!

Zeke made the suggestion that we should make a Time Machine so yesterday in Room 1 we started designing the Time Machine to be made next week. Room 1 are especially excited that we get to have chocolate and biscuits in the time machine!

On Tuesday we were treated to yummy lollies from Sera, these came all the way from India from her Grandmother. We did some wonderful shared writing around our lollies also. Our faces show how much we loved the lollies.

Fun with Mrs Stanley - Astronomy

Every second Thursday Junior Joes is happening in Room 1. Mrs Stanley takes some of the Room 1 students for some exciting activities. This week she had a wonderful focus on Astronomy where they look at astronauts and made rocket ships. Check them out!!!

Football Skills

Football Skills have been a highlight of the term thus far for Room 1. Today was our last session and it was great to see how far we had all come.

Oral Language

Oral Language is a major component of Room 1 and today the students got to play a new classifying game in small groups. The students had a range of pictures they had to sort into groups and then explain to the class why they chose those groups.
What a fantastic activity it was for all students!

Kiwisport Session 1

Every term for 3 weeks that students have Kiwisport Sessions with Naomi, in these sessions they learn a wide range of fundamental skills for sport and have so much fun doing so.
