Pasifika Sunrise

What a treat to have both Freya and Robin up on stage at Polyfest. For two students who have not even had a year at school this was a great achievement!

What have we been up to? 
- We learnt our colours and days of the week with Mrs B when Miss Reeves was sick
- Attended Polyfest on Tuesday - what an amazing event!
- Had Hoani in to do more Te Reo Maori with us (see photos)
- Lunchtime crosswords with Ruma Toroa

All that and it is only Wednesday!!!

Te Reo Maori with Hoani

Piwakawaka and Korimake are lucky enough to be having 3 sessions this term with Hoani to help boost our Te Reo knowledge.

We learnt:

- How to ask how we are feeling
- Hokey Pokey
- Action words
- Animals

Tongan Language Week

This week is Tongan Language Week and to make the students in Piwakawaka more aware of the Tongan culture we have been using the following videos to help us out. Joseph from Hoiho also taught us how to say hello at Assembly on Monday.

Where are all the students?????? Piwakawaka got hit last week with a huge amount of sickness and on Tuesday we had 4, yes 4 students! What fun we had.

Friends Shared Prayer

9 students - 6 months to 6 weeks at school, lots of tricky words, dance moves and when to stand and sit - my students have to remember all of this and they absolutely blew all my expectations out of the park! It was a super proud teacher moment and we received comments such as:
"I wish I had a sister like that"
"They were amazing"
"You had me laughing, embarrassed and nearly in tears"
