Miss Henderson (The student teacher) taught us all about the Samoan culture. She explained that lei's are used to welcome people. We made our own lei's in class.
First we had to color in the special flowers and cut them out. Then we had to thread the flowers and straws onto the string. We knew how to do this because it was just like the patterns we have been looking at in Maths. The pattern went flower, straw, flower, straw....
