Wheels Day

What a fantastic day we had on Friday for wheels day, especially on the obstacle course!

How can we improve our environment?

Room 1 have been looking at how we can improve our school environment, we have looked at what is an environment and what we want to improve in our school and we decided that we want to improve the sandpit. Here is our first video to Mrs Stanley.

P.E. - Cooperative Games

Our new focus for P.E. is Cooperative Games. We begun today playing two games, this game was called musical shapes where we had to work together to make shapes. Can you guess what numbers we are making in these photos?

Handwriting Practice

Room 1 are working really hard at learning how to write letters, this week we are focussing on the letters z and n. To make a z we need to know how to do a twig and a sloping stick and for a n we need to know how to draw a short stick and tunnel. Once we know this we can put the shapes together and form the letters. 

Week 5 Certificates

Congratulations to Mckenzy and Joe for receiving this weeks certificates! Keep up the amazing work.

Coconuts

Room 1 and 2 joint together today as we had a special guest visiting both classes. Janice came in to teach the children about some Samoan myths as well as demonstrating how coconut milk, water and oil is made. Most students had a taste of coconut water and all students had a go at scraping the coconut. Such a fantastic experience.

Room 1 and 2 thought it would be cool to have a class trip to the islands......not sure they know money does not grow on trees at St Josephs!!!!!

Bubbletastic!

Writing in week 5 took a fun turn when we headed outside into the sun to blow some bubbles, this was so much fun and produced some amazing writing!

Fundamental Skills

Session Two with Kerri from Sport Otago focussed on Room 1 improving their balancing skills, it was a super fun session!!

Amazing Amelie

Amelie has come so far in her writing in the past 5 weeks, this piece of writing she completed independently with her word card. Amazing work Amelie!!
