Our Inquiry this term is focusing on NZ. Room 1 lately have been learning about two famous New Zealanders - John Kirwan and Lydia. Check out the awesome posters they made to learn more about them.
Mission Day
Mission Day is celebrated yearly at St Joe's. This is a great chance for each class to run a stall and make money to help out those in need. This year Room 1 and 2 combined to make a Lolly Shop. They had so many lollies and were so close to selling out.

Week 1 Certificates
Well done to Joe and Poppy for an amazing first 5 days at school! These two certainly deserved their award this week.
Week 1 Term 4
Wow, what a crazy busy first week we had in Room 1. Alongside welcoming two new students we got straight into some fun learning.
Photos as follows:
- Leo - a superstar writer in week 1 who got to visit Mrs Stanley to show off his amazing writing and got to dip into her treasure bowl! Keep up the amazing writing Leo.
- Little Gardens - last term we got to plant a little garden each and on the very hot Friday last week we transferred these to the garden. Fingers crossed they continue to grow.
- Kavanagh Kiwisport - this is continuing into week 2 and the students are have some amazing fun with the "big kids" from Kavanagh.

Moon Sand
Oral Language is a major focus in Room 1. It not only develops children's speaking skills the activities we do encourage social interaction with the entire class. Here are photos of Room 1 playing with Moon Sand. It was a great afternoon in the sun playing together. The conversations are great to listen to.
